About Us

Why we built FloorFreight.

We started FloorFreight because buying flooring online should be simple, transparent, and affordable. No showroom overhead, no mystery markups — just great floors shipped straight from the source.

The Problem

Big-box stores charge full retail. You're the one paying for it.

Walk into a big-box home improvement store to buy flooring and the sticker price includes a lot more than just the floor. You're paying for hundreds of acres of retail space, regional warehouses full of inventory, and the corporate overhead of a publicly-traded retailer with shareholders to answer to. The associate “helping” you with a $6,000 flooring decision is often whoever happened to be nearby — sometimes the garden center guy who should be loading mulch. They're not flooring experts. They're floor staff with a name tag.

Industry estimates put big-box markups between 40% and 60% above wholesale cost. That means on a $6,000 flooring order, $2,000 to $3,000 goes toward overhead that has nothing to do with the quality of your floor. The product is identical — the same SKU, the same warranty, the same manufacturer — you just pay more for the privilege of buying it from a retail giant where nobody on the floor actually knows hardwood from LVP.

We thought there had to be a better way.

The Idea

An authorized dealer with no warehouse, no repackaging, and no middleman.

FloorFreight is an authorized dealer for Shaw Industries — the largest flooring manufacturer in the United States. When you place an order with us, we place it directly with Shaw, and Shaw ships your floor to you from their facilities in Dalton, Georgia.

There's no warehouse in between. No repackaging. No extra truck ride. Your flooring goes from the factory floor to your front door in the most direct path possible.

Dalton, Georgia has been the carpet and flooring capital of the world since Shaw Industries was founded there in 1946. Today, more flooring is manufactured within a 65-mile radius of Dalton than anywhere else on the planet. It's home to Shaw, Mohawk, and dozens of other manufacturers — a concentration of flooring expertise and production capacity that exists nowhere else.

We built FloorFreight as a Georgia-based authorized dealer to take direct advantage of that supply chain. By operating lean — no showroom, no physical inventory, no commissioned sales staff — we pass the savings directly to you.

The Brands

Three brands. Each one best-in-class.

We didn't try to carry everything. We picked three brands from the Shaw Industries family — each one a leader in its category — and built FloorFreight around them.

Shaw Floors

America's largest flooring manufacturer

Shaw has been making flooring in Dalton, GA since 1946. From engineered hardwood to carpet tile, Shaw covers every category with a depth of styles and price points no one else can match. Their products are in millions of American homes for a reason.

Anderson Tuftex

Premium hardwood, crafted with intention

Anderson Tuftex is Shaw's premium hardwood and carpet brand. Their hardwood collections feature hand-scraped textures, wide planks, and rich stains you won't find in big-box stores. If you want a floor that feels like furniture, Anderson Tuftex is where to look.

COREtec

The brand that invented waterproof LVP

COREtec pioneered the waterproof luxury vinyl plank category. Their patented core structure means these planks won't swell, buckle, or warp — even in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. It's the product that made vinyl flooring something people actually want.

These aren't brands we settled for — they're the brands we built around.

Our Promise

Small operation. Every order matters.

FloorFreight is a small team. We don't have a call center or a chatbot army. What we do have is a genuine commitment to making sure every order goes smoothly — because at our size, every customer is someone we remember.

If something goes wrong with your shipment — damaged cartons, a missing pallet, a delivery that doesn't show — we handle the freight claim for you. You don't have to chase down carriers or fill out forms. That's our job.

We have a sample system so you can see and feel products before committing to a full order. We think that's important when you're choosing something that will be in your home for decades.

And when you email us, a real person reads it and writes back. Usually within one business day. That's a promise, not a target.

Who We Are

Three generations of flooring expertise. Now factory-direct to you.

Our family has been in the flooring business in Winter Haven, Florida since 1962 — three generations selling, installing, and standing behind floors for residential and commercial customers across central Florida.

We started FloorFreight because homeowners shouldn't have to pay big-box markups to get the floors contractors get. Same Shaw. Same COREtec. Same Anderson Tuftex. Just the wholesale price, shipped factory-direct.

Three generations of flooring expertise told us which products actually hold up, which manufacturers stand behind their warranties, and what to install where. FloorFreight is how we share that knowledge with homeowners directly — at the same prices a contractor would pay.

If you have a question about a product, an installation, or whether a particular floor is right for your space, email hello@floorfreight.com. A flooring expert reads it and writes back.
